Introduction
The rapid development and proliferation of artificial intelligence technologies are reshaping global power dynamics and deepening struggles for hegemony in the digital domain. In particular, artificial intelligence systems such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek, so-called large language models, are playing an increasingly central role in the production, distribution, and consumption of information. The content produced by these systems is not only a reflection of their technical capacity but also a product of the cultural, political, and economic contexts in which they are developed. Therefore, examining the ideological tendencies in the outputs of AI models is critical to understanding knowledge and power relations in the digital age. This study comparatively examines the ideological orientations in the content produced by the Western-based ChatGPT and Eastern-based DeepSeek AI models. The research aims to reveal how algorithmic bias reflects global power asymmetries by analyzing the approaches of these two AI systems with different geographical and cultural origins on issues such as individual freedoms, state authority, and media regulation. In this context, Türkiye’s digital media ecosystem presents a unique case for examining the intersection of diverse digital governance models, shaped by its geopolitical position and technological orientation between the East and West.
